BACKGROUND
MAT ABACUS Business School, is an institution that was formed as the result of a merger between the Management and Accountancy Training Company (“MAT”) established in 1998 and Abacus Business School (ABS) founded in 2014.
The Management Accountancy Training Company and Abacus Business School (ABS) were both established institutions recognized in the areas of specialty with a focus on forming a centre of excellence committed to providing value-based practical education, inspiring organisational leadership and transforming lives.
Both institutions have been able to impact the education sector due to the quality of the programs that are offered. MAT is one of only five Approved Learning Partners “ALP’s” at the Platinum level in Africa, it has a custom equipped training center with modern teaching facilities, utilizing over 10,000 square feet of classroom space.

We provide professional management and accountancy training for leading international programs including Certified Public Accountants of Uganda, The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants ACCA exams, The Chartered Financial Analyst CFA exams, the Certified Internal Auditor CIA exams, the Project Management Professional PMP exams, the Certified Information Systems Auditor CISA exams the Chartered Institute of Marketing CIM exams with others in the pipeline.
We provide tuition for the Heriot-Watt University MBA and M.Sc. Finance program from Edinburgh Business School, UK. ACCA and Oxford Brookes University’s BSc.Applied Accounting
We provide Executive Education to leading institutions in Uganda including Board Director Training, Leadership Development, Change Management training, and custom trainings like “the CFO Academy” and the “Women in Leadership” program.
We provide consulting support to institutions to assist them in their quest to achieve management excellence by solving management challenges with novel, best practice informed solutions.
